What should I bring to my first physical therapy visit?

 

Please bring your physical therapy prescription from your referring provider, your insurance card, and any reports, such as X-rays or MRIs. Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy access to your problem area. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork.

 

How long is a physical therapy session?

 

This will be discussed during your initial evaluation and will be based on your specific needs. We set aside 60 minutes for your evaluation and treatment.

 

How many sessions will I require?

 

Every patient is different. You may only require a consultation or you may require prolonged rehabilitation. Your plan of care and expected length of treatment will be discussed with you during your initial evaluation. You will be routinely re-evaluated every month and your physician will be informed of your progress.

 

Can I receive physical therapy where I choose?

 

Your doctor may suggest a specific facility, but ultimately the decision as to where you receive physical therapy is yours.
