Motion Works Physical Therapy specializes in the treatment of POST-CONCUSSION SYNDROME.

A concussion is a brain injury that occurs when the brain is shaken inside the skull, causing changes in the brain’s chemistry and energy supply. Headaches, dizziness, neck pain and balance problems are some of the most common symptoms of concussion.  Most concussion symptoms will subside in 7 to 10 days.  Post-concussion syndrome occurs when symptoms last longer than expected.

Your physical therapist can be part of an interdisciplinary team involved with concussion management, including your primary care doctor, specialists and athletic trainer.

How Motion Works Physical Therapy Can Help

No two concussions are alike, so your physical therapist will assess your symptoms and design an individualized treatment program.  Your treatment may be aimed at:

  • Reducing neck pain and headaches
  • Improving dizziness and balance
  • Structured aerobic exercise to help restore normal cerebral blood flow
Gait and Balance Disorders

Motion Works Physical Therapy specializes in the treatment of GAIT AND BALANCE DISORDERS.

There are three body systems that are responsible for a person’s balance, including their vision, inner ear and muscular system.  When there is a dysfunction of any of these systems, it can be difficult for a person to maintain a stable, upright position.

At Motion Works Physical Therapy, we can identify the cause of your balance problem and design an individualized treatment program to address your needs. Your treatment could be aimed at:

  • Reducing your risk to fall
  • Improving your balance
  • Improving your strength
  • Improving your flexibility and posture
